In October 1989, LEAF provided the Standing Committee on Human Rights and the Status of Disabled Persons with a submission concerning the future of the Court Challenges Program.
LEAF argued that the Court Challenges Program needed to continue to ensure fairness, equal access to the courts, and that those for whom the equality provisions had been devised would be able to participate in the development of the Canadian meaning of equality.
