In November 2019, the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund made a submission to the Standing Committee on Private Bills and Private Members’ Public Bills in opposition to the proposed Conscience Rights (Health Care Providers) Protection Act found in Bill 207, which had recently passed first reading in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
LEAF submitted that Bill 207 was an unjustifiable infringement of Charter rights, and requested that Bill 207 not proceed from the Committee.
