LEAF National Call for Board Volunteers
Deadline: May 31, 2019
Are you passionate about the advancement and empowerment of women and girls in Canada? Do you have eight or more years of relevant expertise? If so, we need your energy, experience, and ideas!
LEAF is a national, non-profit organization committed to advancing the equality of women and girls in Canada through litigation, law reform, and public education. For almost 35 years, LEAF has been at the forefront of equality advocacy in Canada. Using the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, LEAF has made integral contributions to the development and defense of reproductive rights, pay equity legislation, sexual assault laws, laws combatting image-based violence, and efforts to combat systemic violence against Indigenous women and girls.
LEAF invites community activists, lawyers, academics, and individuals who are dedicated to advancing women’s equality in Canada to share your talents with our national Board of Directors.
This year, the Board is particularly looking to bolster its knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
- Human rights and equality litigation
- Intersectional feminism
- Human resources
- Communications (including media and public relations)
In recognition of the value diversity brings to our work, LEAF encourages applications from Indigenous women, racialized women, LGBTQ+, women with disabilities, and women from other marginalized groups from across Canada.
We invite interested applicants to complete and email the volunteer application form with a cover letter and resume outlining your interest and relevant qualifications to [email protected] by May 31,2019. Please let us know if you require any accommodations to apply, and we will be happy to assist.
