The appearance emphasized the importance of a systemic, intersectional approach to addressing human trafficking, one that dismantles harmful narratives and provides meaningful support to those affected.
LEAF recommended:
- Systemic solutions that address the root causes of exploitation.
- Distinction between trafficking and sex work, and decriminalization of sex work.
- Comprehensive social and economic supports for individuals vulnerable to exploitation.
